Areas of Expertise
As I am certified to practice both pediatric and adult primary care, my joy is in taking care of the entire family. I love watching children grow and develop from birth into adulthood and helping the parents of these children care for their own health. My practice is set up to focus on primary prevention of disease across all age groups, as well as give patients with chronic disease all the time needed to help them manage their health.
Due to my unique background, I am well trained to care for the adolescent and young adult population, especially those with chronic health issues. Many physicians find this period in a patient's life challenging, but it is my greatest satisfaction to help children and their parents successfully navigate their transition to becoming independent young adults.
When I'm Not Working…
I enjoy spending free time with my husband, our two teenage boys and two dogs. My husband and I often follow our eldest son to his many golf tournaments and starting in fall of 2021, we’ll be watching him play for the Virginia Tech golf team (go Hokies!). Our younger son is very active in the School of Rock program, so we can also often be found at local music venues supporting him along with his many friends throughout the DMV area.
My own leisure time pursuits include reading, cooking, sewing, playing the piano (sometimes I participate in the School of Rock adult program), Sudoku, visiting my extended family in Pennsylvania, and caring for our dogs. I also love to visit beaches and national parks and I expect to see more of them now that travel is opening up. Right now you can find me hiking on local trails. I encourage everyone to be active, stay connected with family and friends, and take time to enjoy activities that are just for you!
